If it’s not clear by now, I was very happy with the 5e PHB. I’ve played one session so far, and I want to play more. It is only great restraint that keep some from just going on a mad chargen kick.
But if you want the deeper dive, here it all is.
- Before Opening the PHB
- Players Handbook compared to Hoard of the Dragon Queens
- Cracking open the Book (includes Barbarian)
- Bards & Clerics
- The Druid
- Fighter, Monk & Paladin
- Ranger & Rogue
- Sorcerer, Warlock & Wizard
- The Rest of Chargen
- Rules Stuff
- Magic
- Appendix & Layout
And if you really want to dive deeper: Reviews of Starter Set and Basic Rules
Hey, why no Barbarian breakdown? I have consumed all the other class breakdowns, and just realized that that one is missing.
Barbarian got covered in Cracking open the book, since he was also the guinea pig for talking about how classes were laid out.
